Here in the countryside, mornings begin differently. There’s no rush, no traffic. Just a quiet breeze moving through the trees, birds calling across the fields, and the gentle rhythm of yarn sliding through my fingers. This is where Monala is born – in a small village in Lithuania, surrounded by nature, silence, and slow intention.

I don’t live in a city. I live close to the land. And every piece I create carries that calm within it.

A Life Rooted in Stillness

Building my knitwear brand in the countryside was never a business strategy – it was a natural way of living. I follow the rhythm of the seasons, not fashion cycles. I create what feels essential, lasting, and in tune with the body.

Here, life moves slowly. And so does my work. But in that slowness, there is meaning – and space to make something genuine.

Knitting as a Dialogue

I work with a manual knitting machine. Each piece may not be hand-knitted stitch by stitch, but it’s still entirely made by hand. The yarn runs through my fingers. The tension is guided by feel. The rhythm is my own.

There’s no automation. No rush. Just wool and time – and a quiet conversation between material and maker.

Sometimes I see the garment before it’s born – its shape, the texture, how it will move. Other times, it reveals itself gradually, stitch by stitch.

From Fiber to Feeling

I use 100% merino wool – soft, breathable, and natural. I work with earthy, understated colors: creamy whites, gentle greys, muted browns. Shades that don’t compete with your skin, but flow with it.

Each piece is made in very small quantities. I don’t follow trends. I test designs on myself first, knit to order, and only produce more if I feel the design truly belongs.

There’s no overproduction. No waste. Just intention.

A Quiet Thread of Connection

Many women write to me after receiving their Monala knitwear. Sometimes it’s a short message, sometimes a long letter – often with photos of them wearing it on a mountain path, in a quiet café, or at home on a soft morning. These messages mean the world to me.
